How Fitbod decides your workout

Fitbod's own help pages explain the system in two parts. One engine picks your exercises, another picks your sets, reps, and weight. Underneath both sits a recovery model: every muscle group gets a recovery percentage from 0 to 100, calculated from the training you've logged in the app, and the exercise picker leans toward muscles that score as fresh.

Read that again, because the detail matters. The recovery percentage is calculated from the training you've logged in the app. That's the entire input.

The recovery model only sees your logged sets

Here's the problem. You are not a training log.

Say you did legs on Monday. By Thursday, Fitbod's model might have your quads at 70 percent and happily programs squats. But whether you slept five hours last night, played football on Saturday, or helped a friend move house on Sunday, the model has no idea. Untracked stress doesn't exist to it. Your legs feel wrecked, and the app is confidently telling you they're ready.

Now, full honesty: Workout With Me doesn't read your sleep tracker either. The difference is what happens when the model is wrong.
